TURNTURN

障害の有無、世代、性、国籍、住環境などの背景や習慣の違いを超えた多様な人々の出会いによる相互作用を、表現として生み出すアートプロジェクト。その入り口となるのが様々なアーティストと福祉施設・コミュニティとの交流のプロセスで、プロジェクトメンバーのひとりとして、2015年から障害者施設「クラフト工房La Mano」との交流を続けています。活動を通じて“TURNは人間らしさに出会いなおす旅”だと捉えています。この活動は東京2020オリンピック・パラリンピック公認文化オリンピアードとして実施しています。This art project aimed to express mutual interactions by meeting a variety of people regardless of disability, age, gender, nationality, or differences in background or customs. The starting point was to facilitate interactions between various artists and people at social welfare facilities and communities. As a member of the project, I have been interacting with people at a support facility for persons with disabilities, “Handicraft Studio La Mano,” since 2015. Through this project, I came to realize that “TURN is a journey to reconnect with my own humanity.” This project is being held as a cultural program for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
クラフト工房La Manoとの交流Interaction With “Handicraft Studio La Mano”
東京都町田市の小さな里山にたたずむ「クラフト工房La Mano」では、物づくりや手しごとで社会と繋がるをモットーに、自閉症や知的障害などの障害のある人とともに、手染や手織による天然染料を使った製品づくりとアトリエでの創作活動に励んでいます。La Manoとの交流から生まれた表現をTURNフェス（東京都美術館）で発信するほかに、福祉施設をアートによって文化施設に変えるというTURN LANDのコンセプトのもと、町田市の新しい文化拠点となっていくことを目指し「手のプロジェクト-綿花から糸へ‥-」をはじめました。それは、四季を感じられる豊かな自然があり、手を使う仕事を大切にするLa Manoの敷地で、子供から高齢者まで施設内外の様々な人たちとともに、土を耕し、種を蒔き、綿花を育て、手で紡ぎ、一本の糸をつくるプロジェクトです。At the “Handicraft Studio La Mano,” located in the small mountain village in Machida City, Tokyo, their motto is connecting with society through manufacturing and handiwork. Working together with people with mental disabilities and autism, they diligently produce handwoven and hand-dyed products using natural dyes. This project originated from interaction with La Mano and is shown in the TURN Fes at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. In addition, a project named “Hand Project, from Cotton to Thread,” based on TURN LAND’s concept of changing social welfare institutions into cultural facilities, set out to establish La Mano as a new cultural base in Machida City. At La Mano, a place close to nature where you can feel the changing of the seasons, a diverse group of people, from children to elderly and from within and outside the facility, create one thread of cotton yarn through the processes of cultivating, planting seeds and growing cotton.
